Who this course is for: This American Heart Association Heartsaver course is for individuals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of settings.
Course format:
In-person hands-on skills practice and testing (approximately 30-45-minutes to complete)
Course content:
Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival
Recognize when someone needs CPR
Perform high-quality CPR for an adult, child & infant
Describe how to perform CPR with help from others
Give effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult, & child
Describe when and how to help a choking adult or child
Demonstrate how to help a choking infant*
*Students work with an instructor to complete the skills practice and skills testing. Upon successful completion of the cognitive and practical testing, the student will receive a course completion card within 24 hours.
